Among all the models in our catalog, the Virginia table is one of those products that require no lengthy description. It speaks for itself: a sleek shape, a solid oak tabletop, and crisp metal legs. This is a table for those who appreciate quality without unnecessary decoration.
But a good review is all about the details. Let’s break down the Virginia by all its parameters so you can make an informed decision.
First Impression: Why Virginia Looks "Right"
The Virginia is built on the principle of "honest design": every element performs a function and looks exactly like what it does. Nothing superfluous, nothing hidden.
The Tabletop: straight, rectangular, with a square (non-beveled) edge. No live edge, no decorative routing—just a clean, straight line that highlights the natural pattern of the wood without distracting from its shape.
The Legs: slim, straight, metal, connected by a crossbar for optimal rigidity. The structure reads like the table's "skeleton"—functional and honest.
The Result: a table that looks equally excellent in modern, Scandinavian, and minimalist interiors—without being tied to any short-lived trend.
Materials and Production
The Tabletop: 40 mm thick solid oak. This is not veneer, not a thickened laminated board, and not "engineered wood"—it is solid timber with its natural structure beautifully preserved. To give you a sense of scale: tables with a 40 mm oak tabletop are a rarity in mass production. Most competitors offer 25-30 mm. These extra 10-15 mm are not just numbers; they translate into a tangible difference in weight, stability, and a premium feel.
The wood is primarily Ukrainian, sourced legally from Western Ukraine. It is crafted at MebWood's own production facility in Lutsk.
The Legs: a welded steel profile with an anti-corrosive powder coating. Available color options: matte black, glossy black. The standard variant is matte black (the absolute favorite among our customers).
Tabletop Finishes
MebWood offers two finish options for the Virginia:
Natural Oil – penetrates the wood structure, preserves the tactile feel of "live wood," and highlights the depth of the texture and natural color. It requires renewal once a year, but in return, it looks brand new after restoration.
Polyurethane Varnish – forms a protective film on the surface. It is easier for daily maintenance (less sensitive to moisture), but if the film is damaged, restoration is more complex.
Recommendation from MebWood: for kitchens and dining areas with children, choose varnish. For living rooms and conference spaces where tactile authenticity matters, go with oil.

Who the Virginia Table Is For
This table is ideal for those who:
Appreciate clean, modern design without excessive ornamentation;
Want furniture that won't go out of style in three years;
Plan to mix and match it with various design elements (chairs of different styles, from classic to plastic);
Need a table that is equally fitting for daily family use and home business meetings.
Virginia is not well-suited for: rooms in Provence, rustic, or traditional classic styles—where it might look a bit too austere. For those settings, we recommend the Texas (beveled edge, oak legs) or the Charlotte (Swiss edge).

The Virginia is a table that doesn't try to be flashy or overly impressive. It simply does its job: stands firm, looks flawless, and serves for years. Sometimes, that is more than enough.
